The Fat, Smug, Arrogant Face Of "Accountability"

"Jeepers. Don't you just hate it when some ball-busting bitch demands that you tell Canadians what you plan to do with three billion dollars of their hard-earned cash? Just who the fuck does she think she is? The duly elected representative of her constituents, or some other such highfalutin', lah-di-dah, fancy-ass nonsense? God, it's bad enough I have to pretend to believe that Liberals deserve to live; here I am answering their insolent questions, like they're my equals or something. Ewwww, gross! How degrading".

"Listen, Miss Thing--we'll let you know what we've done with the money after we've spent it. Now go away, and let me get back to my box of Timbits".

Notice how all these Conservaboys like Fat Baird have that habit of nattering on at hypersonic speed? And that it takes a mommy or a daddy to insist they slow down?

They're all like this. I was just watching Politics with Don Newman and Monty Solberg was on. I swear they had to turn down the volume on his mic to stop him from interrupting Elly Alboim.

It's the ADD, Ti.

It's really embarrassing watching Parliament not function.

It is just as embarrassing watching people parse the bits and pieces out just so they can embarrass the side they wish to embarrass.

It is too bad you didn't pick some other pieces to share with your readers; for example the ones that make the Liberals look arrogant, petulant, or just plain silly.

I guess that's the rub.

It also means that none of us are the solution to this problem because we are all too quick to polarize it and climb on top of our particular mountain to crow victory.

Oh, I could have done that. I just have this odd habit of insisting on integrity and accountability from those who actually have power--like governments. It's this strange democratic fetish I have...

Sir Francis,

If you want a little touch of arrogant, silly, and petulant, brough to you by the LPC, go to the Macleans Blog Kady has of the speeches before the Senate vote.

It is enough to make one wish for a lottery to fill the red chamber. We surely to goodness could not have done worse. Especially precious is Senator Banks.

You're so lazy. Always getting everyone else do to the work necessary to substantiate whatever claim it is you're making.
